Had enough of career politicians?
I have. Like you, I’ve seen what happens when leaders forget who they work for, and have been in Washington too long. That’s why this soldier, constitutional conservative, and man of faith has decided to run for Congress in Texas’s 10th District. I was born in Austin and raised between Texas and Oklahoma, graduating from Birdville High School. My family's roots run deep in fighting for our nation’s freedom, dating back to the Revolutionary War. The Hurt family has served in every major conflict this country has ever faced. That’s why I have always believed in serving others before myself.
At an early age, I developed a strong work ethic. I attended TCU before leaving college to work and serve. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, I realized the danger to our country, so I followed my family’s tradition of service and enlisted in the U.S. Army. I served as an intelligence analyst with the 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne), deploying twice in support of global missions. While serving our nation, I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Intelligence Studies at American Military University. As a Sergeant, my duties included working in real-time intelligence environments, tracking enemy movements, supporting special operations, leading my team to success, and contributing to the protection of American lives.
When I left active duty, I enrolled in one of the world’s top national security programs at King’s College London. I went to sharpen my edge because I knew the fight for America’s future wasn’t just happening at home. While studying abroad, I was constantly challenged about my views, my values, even my Texas roots. In those rooms with world leaders and foreign policymakers, I never backed down. I defended Texas. I stood up for American strength, constitutional freedom, and the people I grew up with. And I walked away from every one of those conversations with handshakes, respect, and understanding. That’s the kind of representative I’ll be in Washington: someone who doesn’t flinch and never forgets where he came from.
My Christian faith is at the heart of who I am. It’s been a quiet guide through hardship, service, and personal growth. I believe that the Bill of Rights and the Constitution aren’t just legal documents; they reflect the God-given rights of every American. My belief in liberty, responsibility, and human dignity all flow from my faith and my oath to defend the Constitution.
It is time for a Congressman who will take action. My goals are:
That the border must be secured, and Texas should lead the effort.
The federal government must be limited, not bloated.
Congress should put the people first, not fatten their wallets.
Freedom, our freedom, is non-negotiable, and I’ll never vote to weaken it.
Let’s bring honor, discipline, and Texas grit back to Washington.
